Tidö Castle Bicycle Museum
In the beautiful Stone stable, built in 1891, at Tidö Castle near Västerås, you will find a world-class motorcycle museum, MC Collection, with an outstanding collection of motorcycles from the beginning of the 20th century until today. Several exhibited motorcycles are connected to renowned people like competition drivers and motorcycle designers as well as ordinary drivers, and there is an extensive, informative display of pictures and photos. Every new season, changes are made in the exhibition and some motorcycles are replaced by new ones.
During 2023 our theme exhibition is Triumph.
In the same building, the Stone stable, there is a cycling history cavalcade from early velocipedes of wood to today’s modern special bikes of plastic and aluminum. Displayed is the story behind one of the world’s smartest inventions, its history regarding design and technology.
The exhibitions at the Stone stable, Tidö castle are a lot of fun for everyone, not only experienced motorcyclists. On site, there is a café which offers a wide selection of pastries, sandwiches, different beverages, and ice cream. There is also a shop with unique books and other rare items linked to the motorcycle culture.
There are guided tours of the state rooms at Tidö castle which you should preferably book in advance. Go to www.tidoslott.se for information on dates and times.
